Year 1
WELCOME TO YEAR 1
Welcome to year 1, we are very excited to see all the amazing progress each child will make this year. Your year 1 teachers this year are, Miss Ali and Miss Judge.
Term 5
Our topic for the summer term is 'Rumble in the Jungle'.
We will be exploring different animals in our writing, arts and stories. We will be exploring our local area in sciences this term ,as we look at the different types of flowers and trees around us.
Our new writing text this term is 'Pattan's Pumpkin' by Chitra Soundra. The story is based in India, we can't wait to enable the children to explore a different country and culture throughout this text. We have lots of children and staff members who are eager to share their experiences of India with us. We will be writing about Indian animals, clothing and mud huts, which will be lots of fun!
PE days
Our PE days this term will be Monday and Thursday. Please can children come to school in their PE clothes ready, on these days.
Monday's session will be all about fitness and Thursday will be gymnastics.
Home learning
Home reading books should be brought to school daily. Please listen to your child read every day.
